Adding notes to a task

Several users have written in asking for the ability to add notes to a task and as the old saying goes “Ask and you shall receive”. The new feature is still in an experimental stage but is live on Traskpro.com to allow users to start interacting with it to provide feedback.

Now when clicking the ‘edit‘ button Traskpro will offer a notes field for adding any content the user desires. This content will be displayed below the task until the task is completed. Unlike the task field itself the notes field is HTML-friendly so feel free to go nuts with HTML tags if you so desire.

Future development will refine this feature heavily. Current ideas for the feature include the HTMLizing line breaks to allow users to not have to use a BR tag to create line breaks, and making notes collapsible to make viewing a large list of tasks with notes cleaner.

If you have feedback or suggestions on the notes feature of please leave a comment on this post.

Flagging tags for quick access

Traskpro’s tag based context views are a great way to manage tasks, but for power users with a large number of tags navigating to frequently used tags can involve a lot of scrolling. To help avoid this a new feature called flagged tags has been added. Flagged tags are a short list of your favorite tags that are displayed in the sidebar above the full list of tags for quick access.

Flagging tagsFlagging a tag is easy - in the full tag list move your mouse slightly to the left of a tag and a small orange star will appear. Clicking this star adds the tag to your list of flagged tags to make it easier to get to. Removing a tag from your list of flagged tags is just as easy - just hover your mouse to the left of a flagged tag and a red x will appear allowing for the quick removal of the flag.

This feature is still very experimental so expect the user interface to evolve for it. If you have ideas, suggestions, or comments on the flagging of tags or any other Traskpro features leave a comment on this post.
